OH MY GOODNESS! I'M BACK! I'm aware of the unbearably horrifying place this has been without me and I'm sorry, from the bottom of my heart, for making these last few weeks so hard for you guys. I'm sure you even went so far as to contemplate the end of the world on multiple occasions, but have no fear; I have returned! :P
This shot is inspired by the giant kid that still seems to pervade my entire being -- I've always wanted to 'grow up' quickly in age, maturity, and credibility, but the more I grow into these childhood dreams, the more I wish I could switch directions.
While staying up late, having my own bank account, and making my own decisions comes with many merits, the things from my childhood -- carelessness, freedom, agility (both mental and physical), and the ability to make a billion mistakes that, instead of threatening my livelihood, served as great learning experiences -- that made it so awesome, are fading away.
So while it's great to have kids grow up and develop their own unique places in the world, it's important to ensure the persistence of the saying, "let kids be kids". Because there will come a day when this girl is no longer willing to plunge into the middle of a skating rink to entertain hundreds of people she's never met before. There will come a day when she has "more important" things to do than spend 30 hours a week perfecting her craft. There will come a day when this girl can no longer physically balance on a single 3mm blade whilst dancing and doing the splits.
Let's hope this day comes later rather than sooner -- but until then, let her be a kid and do all of these things that will someday exist only as memories :)  The Imposition

This was the 2nd time I've worked with Caiti, this was the 'redemption' shoot. As I felt terrible, horrible, depressed even because my first shoot with this stunning woman didn't go very well. Many elements caused it to go wayward, the wind, the glaring sun, the location not working out. Urgh it was a frustrating day. Hence the title, The 'Imposition.'

Basically I redeemed myself after the first few images I snapped of her, and towards the end of the shoot (when these were taken) I knew it was a successful shoot. So expect more shoots with her in the future, which brings me to...
Her eyes. I've shot many women in my time, but two girls glaze destroy me, one is Amaryllis, and the other is this girl. In this specific shot, I did not touch her eyes, they totally came out of the camera like that. Even from a medium shot perspective, they manage to gaze into my soul.  Rachel. The Photographer.
